Mrs. Broström, wife of the chairman of the board of a Swedish shipping company, christens the tanker Danaland, the largest ever built in the Netherlands, at the shipyard of the Nederlandse Droogdok en Scheepsbouw Maatschappij in Amsterdam. Because of a short strike of the workers the headmen and officals then launch the ship.
