Art historian Jan Hulsker opens the special exhibition of paintings by the 91-year-old painter Kees van Dongen at the museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam. Van Dongen is unable to attend due to illness, but his daughter and brother are present at the opening. With a.o. paintings of the actress Arletty, singer Modjesko, partygoers, a water colour of Deauville, womens portraits, Comptesse de Nailles and a self-portrait as Neptune. With archive footage of Van Dongen during the opening of an exhibition in 1938.
