In the fishing port of Scheveningen the herring luggers are made ready. A few days later the ships set sail. SHOTS: - the ships at the quay; fishermen inspect a rolled out fishing net on the quay; empty barrels, fishing nets, boxes, baskets etc. are taken aboard the ships; a sailor goes aboard with his duffel bag; - the dressed ships lie along the quay; a huge crowd strolls past the ships; - a huge crowd in the harbour and on the pier waves goodbye to the ships as they sail off the next day.
