Week number 48-51
Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
People from Twente now living in Rotterdam keep up their customs from Twente when a baby is born with a family from Twente. SHOTS: men and women in Twente traditional attire move in a procession through the street to the home of the parents, carrying an enormous currant bread. There, by old tradition, the child is first admired at the door by the women. The men receive a glass of brandy. Then the company enters the house and the currant bread they brought with them is cut and consumed with a cup of coffee.
