During World War II the University leiden closed its doors. This caused a.o. a considerable arrears on scientific literature. Now, in 1950, the university receives scientific books by from America. SHOTS: - Library employees unpack the books; - in the senates room an American hands over the books; rector B.A. van Groningen accepts the books and gives a short word of thanks; - Van Groningen and other men rummage through the stacks of books.
