Week number 74-42
Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Architect Pieter Blom is responsible for the Kasbah project in Hengelo in Overijssel, which is strongly deviant from conventional architecture. The houses are on poles and underneath them are communal spaces that can be used partially by the occupants themselves. The interior is characterized by an open plan living, in which the floor with bedrooms is partially opened up and can be seen from downstairs. SHOTS: Blom at work in his studio in Monnickendam; tracking shot along Kasbah houses; int. of a Kasbah house with living room, open plan kitchen and floor with bedrooms; vegetable garden between the houses; playing children underneath the houses.
