Prime Minister V.G.M. Marijnen and his wife are welcomed in the meeting hall of the Council of Ministers of Suriname by Prime Minister Johan Adolf Pengel. Marijnen visits the Afobaka Dam and the hydro-electric power station in Brokopondo. Afterwards he visits Klaaskreek, a dorp that is build for the people who had to leave their village beacause of the rising of the water in the Brokopondo Lake. Marijnen enters the village with a woman on each arm, where traditional dances are performed for him and his wife.
