Week number 49-47
Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
By the Linge near Arkel lies the oldest steam pumping-station in the Netherlands. It's no longer in use. Because the water level in the area is now controlled by the modern motor pumping-station "Dr. G. Kolff(?)" in Hardinxveld, the steam pumping-station will be demolished. The steam engines of the old pumping-station run one last time before the demolition starts. SHOTS: - Ext. water mill with water wheel; - ext. steam pumping-station and int. with boilers, machines and water wheel; - ext. motor pumping station and int. with diesel engines, pumps and pipeworks. Note : The name "Kolff" could be "Kalff".
