People try to obtain a release from the Rijksverkeersinspectie for the Sunday driving ban that the government has imposed because of the difficult oil situation, which is caused by the Suez Crisis. The personnel of the Rijksverkeersinspectie handles all the applications. On Sunday only foreign cars and taxis drive in the streets and the police checks cars for releases. Petrol stations and bars along the road stay empty and the youth rollerskates in the streets.
