Week number 62-17
Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Mr. H.A. Korthals, Minister of Traffic, Public Works and Water Management, opens the final part of the national highway A12 (E36) between Zevenaar and the German border to Emmerich. At the new customs office he shakes hands with his colleague Minister Erkens from North Rhine-Westphalia. The approaches and exits of the road, which is still on Dutch territory, have been temporarily closed off with concrete poles to prevent people from bypassing customs. Also shots of the old route through the center of Zevenaar, via a small winding road with busy railway crossings, and through the center of the bailiwick Elten, which is still under Dutch rule, with the Dutch-German customs office.
