Nature in the Netherlands is covered by a layer of snow. Children skate on frozen ponds and slide from a slope on sleds. At the Jaap Edden rink in Amsterdam the national championships ice skating are held. The 26-year-old Stien Kaiser wins the 3000m for women in a Dutch record before Carry Geijssen from Delft. The 20-year-old Ard Schenk wins the 10km from Kees Verkerk.
