The Norwegian Jan Egil Storholt has become European champion allround for the second time in Deventer. In the final results he ranked higher than his fellow-countryman Kay Arne Stensjemmet and the Russian Sergei Martsjoe, who came in second and third. The best Dutch man was Pieter Kleine who came in fifth. Hilbert van der Duim came in sixth, Wim Pol seventh and Klaas Vriend thirteenth. SHOTS: Vander Duim loses the 1500 meter from Stensjemmet; Storholt skates through the curve (slow motion); cameraman in a booth above the stand; tracking shot along the commentator booths; Storholt wins from the Russian Vladimir Lobanov at the 1500 meter (with Russian and Norwegian commentary).
