Week number 47-30
Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
The seed-potatoes in the Wieringermeerpolder have to be harvested. Soldiers, students and pupils help out, because there's a shortage of farm workers. To be able to house these temporary workers, houses are built or restored. At the same time, barns are built to store the harvest. SHOTS: - construction workers at work; - detachment of soldiers come marching in; halt; some men take of their shirts; the the whole group goes into a field and starts rooting the potatoes from the earth; the potatoes are put in crates; the full crates are put on a cart; - other young men do the same.
