Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Mr. J. Algera, Minister of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, lays a wreath at the monument of ir. P.C. Lely in Den Oever on the occasion of the 25 years existance of the Afsluitijk. Mr. Prinsen, Royal Commisioner in Zuid-Holland, hands a bouquet of flowers to Grietje Bosker, who was the first woman to cross the Afsluitdijk in 1932. Then Algera hoists the flag. Crane nr. 6, that closed the opening, stands next to the monument. Also footage of reclaimed polders. With archival footage of the closing of the dyke.
