The old city hall of The Hague at the Groenmarkt, dating from 1565, is becoming to small. The department Municipal register and the council chamber are housed externally. A new building will be located at the Alexanderveld. Former mayor S.J.R. de Monchy breaks the ground. SHOTS: - ext. old city hall; ext. external locations; - arrival of De Monchy and company at construction site; breaking ground ceremony; construction workers and an excavator start digging; - scale model of the future city hall.
