Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
The NCRV (a Dutch public broadcaster) started a series of radio broadcasts led by Johan Bodegraven in March 1950 to raise money for the Koningin Wilhelmina Fonds (Queen Wilhelmina Fund) for the fight against cancer. This action for aid, called "Haak-in", ends with an evening in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. In the Large Hall are 2400 people, a representative part of the whole Dutch population. SHOTS: - The people are outside the Concertgebouw in thick rows and move inside step by step; - besides the "ordinary" audience, people in different traditional national attires and professional uniforms are in the hall; a.o. a diver, nurses, bakers; - on the stage is an orchestra and presenter Bodegraven sits or stands there; - different people come on stage to hand over their donation in front of the microphone: workers from the construction industry; waste food collectors from Amsterdam; preschoolers that have learned a rhyme; - ms. J.G.M.M. Geldens, the secretary of princess Wilhelmina, reads a personal message from Wilhelmina and hands a signed portrait over to Bodegraven; - Bodegraven gives his thanks; - children in costume enter: they walk in a procession through the center aisle and present the final amount on stage; - all shots are alternated with shots from the audience; 01:56 mayor A.J. d' Ailly guides ms. Geldens to the stage.
