Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
A translating committee of the Dutch Bible Society, consisting of professors, preachers and theologians, has been working on a new Bible translation for a long time. In the building of the Bible House in Amsterdam the new translation is presented to representatives of the churches. The chairman of the translation committee Professor dr. F.W. Grosheide speaks as the spokesperson. SHOTS: - Ext. Bible House; - int. Bible House: a company of professors are working at a square communal table in a big study, surrounded by Bibles, card-trays, papers etc.; - several Bibles on a shelf; - close ups of pages of old Bibles and the new translation: one and the same bible text (Book of Proverbs chapter 11 verse 22) is being shown as it was printed in a Bible from Delft dating from 1477; in the Dutch Authorized Version of 1637 and in the present modern translation; - Grosheide gives a speech in a room; after that he and another man present the Bible to the men stepping forward on at a time; 01:28 Grosheide dresses the viewers directly.
