Minister P.J. Lardinois of Transport, Public Works and Water Management opens the Heinenoordtunnel near Rotterdam by being the first to drive through it with a classic car. With footage of the lanes for fast and slow traffic and the elevator for cyclers and pedestrians. Also footage of the old lift bridge. Furthermore a shot from a car of the Heinenoordtunnel, by the tollhouses of the Haringvliet bridge, the Haringvliet bridge, the dyke Hellegatsplein, over Goeree-Overflakkee, the Grevelingendam, Schouwen-Duiveland, the Zeeland bridge, the tollhouse of the Zeelandbrug, Noord-Beveland, the bridge over the Zandkreek, Zuid-Beveland and Walcheren to Vlissingen.
