The enduring summery weather in the Netherlands has caused a serious drought. Pastures have big cracks, ditches are dry, cattle searches for water and receives water in tubs, near 's Graveland mobile colums of the water board district pump to raise the water level in the polders, in pastures lie irrigation works, a milk factory in Vredepeel supplies the surrounding area with water and at night game go to the watering places that are refilled by the fire brigade. A fireman spots a forest fire and passes this on to the reporting station, after which the fire brigade turns out, while an airplane points them in the right direction. With water, shovels and fire whips the fire is extinguished.
