The first World Championship sjoelen (a Dutch variation of shuffleboard) is being held in Alphen in Noord-Brabant. There are about five hundred participants from four countries. SHOTS: children and adults playing the game sjoelen; hall full sjoelbakken (shuffleboards); close-up sjoelbakken, where the wooden shuffling disks are shuffled with precision into the boxes.
