Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
A traditional country wedding is held in Denekamp. The bride is picked up at her home by friends and taken to the house of the groom in a procession. There the bride and groom have a drink and go to table with the guests. The party ends with dances. SHOTS: - Young men and women dressed in farmers attire from Twente, run across the property of the farm of the bride and catch free-ranging chickens which will be used as a dowry; - the young men carry the linnen closet of the bride outside in triumph; - the whole company, including the chickens, linnen closet and bride, gets into decorated covered wagons and rides through rural surroundings to the farm of the groom; - there the groom helps the bride out of the wagon and they both receive a drink which they drink enthusiastically; - a cow, part of the dowry, is offered; - long tables with wooden benches stand in the open air; the company arrives and go to table; - the people are eating cheerfully; - farmers and farmers wives do a clog dance; - bride and groom are carried in triumph.
