In May 1940 a Rhine barge with Belgian prisoners of war hit a mine on the Hollands Diep near Willemstad, which killed 164 men. This event is commemorated with a requiem mass followed by the unveiling of a monument on a newly layed out cemetery. SHOTS: - ships sail on the Hollands Diep; - ext. harbour of Willemstad; - at the place of the disaster, marked by a bouy with a mourning flag, a large paddle boat anchored; a mass id dedicated on board, attended by many surviving relatives; - a companyof notables enters the cemetery; - vice-admiral Rost van Tonningen lays a wreath on behalf of Queen Juliana; - a wreath is attached to the buoy with the mourning flag; - all shots are alternated by shots of the great number of attendents, consisting of interested persons, notables, surviving relatives and war veterans, many of them decorated.
