In the May days of 1940 the surrounding area of Rhenen near the Grebbe line was flooded to stop the Germans. Workers and Dutch(?) soldiers work in the now largely dry again area to clean up the barricades that were put up and the damage that has been caused by the water and the fighting. O.a. the rubble and the barbed wire are removed. People return to their houses with their household goods; Dutch(?) soldiers help them move in.

During World War II the newsreels by film producers Polygoon and Profilti were controlled by the German occupiers. Polygoon and Profilti had to work together with the German film rental office Tobis. From January 1, 1941 the newsreels were therefore called Tobis News. Until the fall of 1944 newsreels under this name were produced alternately by Polygoon and Profilti.
