The government proposes to make alterations to the Constitution because of the new relations with Indonesia and the West. These alterations have already been accepted in the House of Representatives. As is laid down by law, the Houses of Parliament are dismembered and new elections for a new parliament have to take place. These elections will be held on July 7, 1948. This newsreel gives an impression of the atmosphere before these elections.
