Week number 41-21
Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Several shots of the ext. of the laboratory building and the ext. of the added wind tunnel. In the workshop of the building people are busy with several scale models of airplanes or small scaled parts of airplanes; material used for airplanes is tested with equipment and measured for properties such as sensitivity for vibrations or the strength and elasticity of the material. The flying qualities of the models are examined and measured in a wind tunnel. The forces that a pilot can exert on the controls of an airplane are also measured.
During World War II the newsreels by film producers Polygoon and Profilti were controlled by the German occupiers. Polygoon and Profilti had to work together with the German film rental office Tobis. From January 1, 1941 the newsreels were therefore called Tobis News. Until the fall of 1944 newsreels under this name were produced alternately by Polygoon and Profilti.
