The farewell of governor P.J. Plateel in the building of the New Guinea Council in Hollandia, in the presence of a.o. Papuan people. Afterwards he is send off by the highest UN-official José Rolz-Bennett, brigadier Saidoe din Khan and Pauan people from the Sentani airport. After inspecting the guard of honour of the Pakistani UN-troops and a platoon of the Papuan police, he gets on the Dakota that will take him to Biak. Several days later he arrives with a DC-8 on Schiphol Airport, where he is greeted by his wife, sons and State Secretary T.H. Bot. 48 hours after Parteel's departure the Dutch rule of New Guinea is turned over to the UN.
