The maintenance of tea gardens in the surrounding area of Batavia, which were neglected during the Japanese occupation, has started again. Pickers take the leaves from the bushes and put them in baskets, which the women take to the workshop on their heads. There the tea is weighed and is processed a.o. with shaking sieves and sorting machines.
