Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
1) A modern hospital has been built in Batavia, the Princess Margriet hospital, replacing the old hospital that was destroyed in combat during the Japanese occupation. SHOTS: streets shots of Batavia with the entrance of the hospital; patients lie on the veranda underneath sunshades; nurses and doctors take care of them. 2) During the Japanese occupation there was a shortage of textiles. In several villages thee are now handed out to people. SHOTS: on the village square a long row of people are waiting in line; some are dressed very poorly and are barefoot; at a table they receive a piece of fabric.
