News from the Dutch East Indies: landing of the Dutch troops on Bali

The Netherlands takes back the authority in the Dutch East Indies from the Japanese soldiers and accepts their surrender. SHOTS: - atmospheric shots on Bali: a.o. rice fields; farmer with oxes; woman washes herself and her child; market on the town square; - Dutch soldiers arrive with small and large landing crafts on the beach of Bali; Japanese soldiers report to the Dutch soldiers; - Balinese people watch as the Japanese help to unload the cargo of a heavy landing craft; a.o. troops, lorries and an airplane are taken ashore; - female Red Cross personnel is disembarked from the ship the "Pahud"; - the Dutch flag is hoisted on the jetty; a contingent of Dutch soldiers stand to attention beside it; - the Japanese officers hand over their Samurai swords to the Dutch troops as a sign of surrender on the lawn(?) of a country house; - the Balinese inhabitants make thanks-offerings to the gods in the temples: Balinese women carry baskets of fruit(?) on their head into the temple; - the commander of the Dutch expedition, lieutenant-colonel Ter Meulen, poses with the Raja of Bali on the doorstep of the Raja's palace.
