A milk surplus has arisen because of a number of factors, a.o. by specialization in cattle breeding. Because of the major difference between the price the farmers receive for their milk and the amount the consumers have to pay, farmers in a.o. Groningen now sell their raw milk directly to their consumers for a lower price. People take the milk with them in buckets. With footage of the milking of cows, the automatic emptying of milk churns in a milk factory, the production of the milk and the filling of glass bottles.
