Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Twelve young people have won the essay competition on industrialisation and are now invited to visit the chemical factory that makes aromatic and flavouring substances in Naarden. They go along with several departments for a day. SHOTS:- The boys and girls arrive by bus at the factory; they stamp their card at the time clock and receive their industrial clothing; - int. factory: the youth are working at different places: Walter Woltz(?) fills a large barrel with a liquid; Helmy van Beek(?) is sitting behind a large panel with bottles filled with all kinds of aromas, the so-called reukorgel (smell organ), and tries to make a perfume with it; Maria Hamelink(?) is doing chemical research in the laboratory with a retort; in an other laboartory, Ria Veldman(?) is preparing fruit juice with vitamins; Huberta Teeuwen assists with a number of distilling columns; Gerard Hirs(?) stands behind the turning lathe in the technical workshop;- several youth walk across the factory site.
