The new sports park "De Vliert" is opened in Den Bosch. Present are a.o. athlete Fanny Blankers-Koen, the cyclist Gerrit Schulte, the minister of Education, Arts and Science, dr. F.J.Th. Rutten, and the ministers J.H. van Maarseveen (Internal Affairs) and F.G.C.J.M. Teulings (without portfolio). SHOTS: - Ext. sports complex; - Fanny Blankers-Koen enters the stadium field carrying the Olympic Flag and says a few words through the microphone; - openings ceremony: Rutten hoists the flag into a flagpole; at the same time flags are also hoisted into the flagpoles around the center field; - in a full stadium the crowd watches an open-air performance of youth putting up a sports fantasy with a.o.: fencing, bowling, soccer, cycling, trotting; rhytmic gymnastics; 00:57 Van Maarseveen (left); unknown woman; Teulings (right); 01:13 Schulte (middle).
