Poultry affected by a Newcastle disease epidemic. Focus on several measures to fight the disease and research for a serum at the Rijksseruminrichting (State serum institute) in Rotterdam. SHOTS: - chicken scratch and run around in Barneveld; in the middle of the healthy chickens, dead chickens lie on the ground and others are cowering and panting heavily; - men (of the clearance service?) talk to the poultry breeder(?); - baskets full of dead chickens are dumped in the cargo space of the cardaver car, which can be hermetically sealed; the car leaves; the grounds and the cages where the animals were kept are disinfected with lye; rotten or mouldered wood is burned; - poster with regulations; - a cattle-truck is pulled over; - employees (of a chicken farm?) disinfect their boots; - ext. Rijksseruminrichting; a car drives inside; - employees examine the dead chickens in a laboratory; - employees do several types of laboratory work with chicken livers; - botlles of inoculum are prepared; a cock gets an injection; - chicken in the field.
