In this part an alumnus (former student), now a gentleman of middle age, takes a walk through Utrecht. Het walks on snowy streets along canals, sees buildings of institutions and arrives at the Observatory. There the person he was speaking to has to end their conversation to see an outburst on the sun. Lady with a cat in a shopping bag looks for a clinic for her pet. Via the Veterinairy Faculty for large animals (horses) and the laboratory for "small animals" (microscopic research on bacteria) she arrives at the institute she looked for.
